Overview
eWall LSP (Layered Service Provider) is unique FREE eWall add-on, an intermediary
layer for standart Winsock2 calls. It's designed to make eWall truly
transparent by providing originating sender IP address to mail server,
thereby making all IP-based mail server features working.
How it works
The picture below demonstrates how eWall works without EWLSP. The mail client connects from IP 64.233.187.99, and eWall
connects to mail server from localhost (127.0.0.1). Thereby, mail server will always see the connection originating from 127.0.0.1.
It makes inoperative some mail server security/anti-spam features, based on sender IP address (for example, DNS Black Lists, SPF, black/white IP lists, POP3 before SMTP, etc.).

After installation EWLSP hooks into Winsock2 chains and monitor the eWall connections.
When mail client raise new connection, EWLSP is passing originating IP address over eWall directly to mail server (as shown on another picture below).

EWLSP works only in context of eWall and mail server processes and self-disabling for other applications.
EWLSP makes eWall unique application, an invisible guard for your favorite mail server, and eWall become transparent.
Limitations
Both eWall and mail server must be installed on same PC, otherwise no magic. Also, if there any other LSP installed, and EWLSP interfere
with them, it's recommended uninstall EWLSP. The EWLSP functionality heavily depends on mail server model
and Winsock2 calls (blocking, IOCP, extensions etc.), and due to LSP plugin complication it's very
hard to satisfy to every model, thereby EWLSP is oriented on common ones and may not work with some
mail servers, for example MS Exchange. If after installation EWLSP doesn't work or you experience some anomalies,
uninstall EWLSP.

David Payer Owner www.iowalink.com, Inc. |
| E-Wall offers mail administrators a programable SMTP proxy that gives them
tools to control email that are not available in any other product I have
seen on the market. As an ISP owner with over 2000 email accounts, we are
constantly looking for better ways to deal with viruses and spam. With
E-Wall we can use industry standard virus scanners and multiple spam
analysis tools (SpamAssassin and Paranoid) that are integrated with the
product to analyze and classify incoming mail. The easy to use rule writing
function allows us to offer whitelists, blacklists and have phenomenal
control over mail for multiple domains and unlimited customers.
Many email server products want to wrap some of these functions into their
baseline and then raise the price of their product. With E-Wall, we see a
way to add a management interface to all incoming SMTP traffic which can
then be handled by any brand of mail server.
The battle to deal with spam seems to be growing every day. I have been
looking for a product that helped me combat the "bad guys" and offer premium
email services to my customers. E-Wall is proving to fill our requirements
for that.
